Fried Beef Strips

Ingredients:

2 tbsp cooking oil

250g beef-cut into thin strips

3 tbsp shallots-ground

25g shrimp paste (belacan)

8 fresh chilies

1 tbsp tamarind (asam jawa)

1 cup water

dash of salt and sugar to taste

2 tbsp frozen green peas-boiled

56g bean sprouts-scald

Method:

Heat oil in wok. Add shallots and beef. Fry for 5-10 minutes under slow fire. Put in the ground chilies, add salt, tamarind juice and sugar. Dish up and spread beef strips on green peas and bean sprouts. Serve hot.
