Layered Nuts Biscuits Recipe


250 g margarine

250 g castor sugar

250 g nuts (fried and pounded)

160 g corn flour

500 g flour

2 egg yolks

1 teaspoon vanilla essence

250g jam


Sieve together corn flour and flour. Cream margarine and sugar. Add in egg yolks and continue to beat well. Fold in vanilla essence, grounded nuts and flour mixture. knead well. Roll out dough into 1/2 cm thickness and cut with cookie cutters into required shape. Spread jam and sandwich the biscuits. Brush biscuits with egg yolk and put on greased trays. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 15 to 20 minutes.
