Sift flours and nutmeg into bowl, stir
in bran and brown sugar, rub in butter. Stir in dates, egg and enough
milk to give a soft consistency. Drop level tablespoons of mixture
about 5 cm apart onto greased oven trays, sprinkle with castor sugar.
Bake in moderate oven for about 15
minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on trays.
