Marble Cake Recipe


1 teaspoon baking powder

300g plain flour

150g icing sugar

6 eggs

300g butter

140g sugar

1 teaspoon strawberry essence

1 teaspoon coffee essence

Baking Tin:

four 14cm floral shaped tins


  1. Sift baking powder and plain flour, then sift icing sugar. Separate egg yolks and egg whites for later use.

  2. Beat butter and icing sugar in mixer till fluffy. Remove.

  3. Beat egg whites and sugar till stiff peaks form. Add egg yolks and beat for about 2 minutes. Remove.

  4. Add butter mixture and mix well by hand. Pour in plain flour and baking powder to mix well. Divide into 2 portions. Pour each portion into separate baking tin. Add strawberry essence and coffee essence respectively. Lightly swirl mixture till colored patterns appear. Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about 25 minutes. Remove and cool.
