Baked Custard With Marzipan Recipe


1 cup eggs (about 4 to 5 eggs)

1 cup thick coconut cream

3/4 sugar

1 cup ground roasted green peas

1/2 tsp salt 3 tbsp crisp fried shallots


Mix sugar and salt in coconut cream slowly. Add ground green peas and stir. Break in the eggs one at a time and mix. To mix, hold some banana leaves in your hand and knead the mixture with the banana leaves. Do not use a spoon to stir as the flavor of the banana leaves will be lost. When the mixture is well combined, pour into a baking dish and place the dish in a basin of water (bain-marie). Bake in an oven of 250 degrees Celsius until firm and set. If you like, sprinkle some fried onions on top and cut into slices before serving.
