Tomato Rice Recipe


2 tbsp oil

12 shallots (pounded)

3 cloves garlic (pounded)

1 cup water

2 star anise

1/2 bottle tomato sauce

5 cm piece cinnamon

4 candlenuts

2 cups rice

1 tin evaporated milk


Clean the rice well, drain and put aside. Heat oil in pan. Fry the ground shallots, candlenuts, cinnamons, garlic and star anise. Put in water and bring to boil. Pour in evaporated milk, tomato sauce and rice. Stir well. Cover the pan. Using low heat cook until done. Garnished with fried shallots, spring onions or celery. Serve.
