Yam Rice Recipe


2 cups rice

2 tbsp vegetable oil

4 small onions (sliced)

1/2 cup dried prawns (soak, drain and pound coarsely)

4 pieces Chinese mushrooms (minced)

1 cup yam (cut into small cubes)

1/2 cup water

2 tsp light soy sauce

salt and pepper to taste


Cook the rice. Heat oil in frying pan and lightly brown the onions. Dish out. Fry the yam for a few minutes, add the water and cover the pan. Cook till soft. (do not over cook as yam will break up) When the rice is ready, add the dried prawns, onions, yam, sauce, salt and pepper. Mix well. Serve.
