Anchovies In Hot Chili Sauce Recipe


1 cup dried anchovies

1 large onion

5 shallots (pounded)

2 tbsp tamarind juice

dried shrimp paste (pounded)

10 dried chilies (pounded)

1 clove garlic (pounded)

salt and sugar to taste


Fry the anchovies until crisp. Grind the shrimps together the shallots, garlic, dried chilies. Sliced large onion into rings. Heat oil in pan and fry the ground ingredients until fragrant. Add in onion rings. Add tamarind juice, salt and sugar. Cook, stirring occasionally until gravy thickens. Put in anchovies and mix well. Serve with coconut milk rice (nasi lemak).
