Fragrant Spicy Prawns Recipe


1 kg big prawns

2 tbsp oil

2 onions, chopped

3 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tbsp dried prawns, soaked and finely pounded

1 cup water

sugar and salt to taste

1 tsp tomato paste



Shell the prawns and remove the black intestinal track. Heat oil in pan and fry onion and garlic till fragrant. Then sprinkle in chili and turmeric powder, and stir-fry for a minute. Add fresh prawns, pounded dried prawns and fry for another couple of minute until prawns turn red. Add water, sugar, salt and tomato paste, and cook uncovered for another 3 minutes until gravy is thick. Serve.
