Indonesian Chicken Curry Recipe


1 chicken, cut into bite-size

4 potato, cut into 4 pieces each

2 onion, sliced

sugar and salt to taste

4 cups water ( enough to cover the chicken)

5 tbsp cooking oil

12 shallots (pounded)

4 cloves garlic (pounded)

3 candlenut (pounded)

5 lemon grass (pounded)

5 tbsp curry powder

1 tbsp coriander powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

1 tsp cumin powder

1 tsp fennel powder



Mix the spices with water to form a paste. Heat 5 tbsp oil in a pan, stir-fry the pounded ingredients and the paste until fragrant. Add in chicken, potato, onion and water. Simmer until cooked or chicken is tender. Add in salt and sugar to taste
