Spicy Mutton Tomato Curry Recipe


1kg mutton

1/2 kg ripe tomatoes (blended)

3 large onions (finely sliced)

10 tbsp oil

4 bay leaves

salt to taste

(A) Grind Together:

10 shallots

5 cm piece ginger

5 cloves garlic

8 red chilies

(B) Grind Together:

4 cardamoms

3cm stick cinnamon

12 black peppercorns


Heat  oil in frying pan. Fry onion till golden. Add (A) together with mutton and brown well. To prevent spices from burning sprinkle a little water. Add tomato and stir well. Add 5 cups of water, bay leaves and salt. Simmer over low heat until meat is tender. Dish out and sprinkle (B) on it. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves. Serve.
